If you have nightmares more than once a week, or if you ever feel afraid to go to sleep because of your nightmares, you might want to talk to a doctor or counselor about it.

  • Studies show that children aged 3 – 8 have a lot more nightmares than other people. It is normal in this age group.

  • The average number of nightmares for young adults (college students) is about one per month.

  • When you are stressed out, over-heated, sick or injured, it is normal to have more nightmares than usual.
